A Student Exploratory Aircraft Mechanics class is offered by the Lucile M. Wright Air Museum in cooperation with JCC Maintenance Technology Institute and is funded by The Chautauqua Region Community Foundation. The 20 students in the current class received a surprise enhancement to their training.  Southern Airways offered to fly any of the 20 students in the class on round trip flights from Jamestown to Pittsburgh. The eight students pictured with the class coordinator signed up and enjoyed the flights on Saturday October 8th.  The two flights were on time, smooth, and a great aviation learning experience.  The students discovered the semicircular rules for determining appropriate flight levels, the base of the altitude structure,  how weight distribution affects the center of gravity, and general airline operations.  The crew on the way home took them to the airplane early and conducted a thorough walk around with much explanation about turbo prop engines and flight controls.  Thank you Southern Airways!!!
