The Lucile M. Wright Air Museum and Jamestown Community College will offer a Student Exploratory Aircraft Mechanic Course for high school students, home schooled students that are high school aged, and adults looking to explore a different occupation.  Classes will meet on 10/1, 10/8, 10/22, and 10/29 from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM with a half hour for lunch at the Museum located at 300 Main Street or JCC Manufacturing Technology Institute.

Classes are funded by a Community Service Grant from the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation and are free to students.  24 hours of instruction and hands on experience will include acetylene, arc, brazing, mig, and tig welding, making parts for and covering with fabric the museum’s rebuild Great Lakes airplane.   The instructors are FAA certified and students receive authenticated logbooks to document their experience. The class will be limited to the first 20 applicants.
